Bayburt
The city of Bayburt is found in north-east Turkey. Once an important point along the silk road, here restocking of supplies, selling of wares and resting would happen before continuing on their journey. The region has its fair share of ancient monuments including historical Mosques, Turkish Baths and tombs.
The Bayburt area is found between the famous Trabzon and Erzurum on open and fertile plateaus. Once part of the Armenia culture, a fortress was built before the end of the Armenian state. 45Km away from the city is an underground city at Aydintepe with enough space for those living here.
