Belek: A Golfer’s Paradise Golf is key to Belek tourism -- for golfers, Belek is a destination like no other. Visit Antalya lists 14 golf courses in Belek. These include the PGA Sultan, voted one of the top 100 courses in continental Europe and previously frequented by Tiger Woods. The Sultan, with a handicap limit of 24 for men and 28 for women, share Antalya Golf Club with the Pasha, a course with a higher handicap limit of 28 for men and 36 for women. Novice golfers may prefer the new or old Gloria courses, with a handicap limit of 40 for men and 36 for women. Golfers may enjoy complementing their experience with one of the all-inclusive “golf resorts” of Belek. At Maxx Royal’s Belek Golf Resort, guests can choose to relax at the beach, the aqua park, or one of four pools, when they’re not playing a game of golf or enjoying upscale dining. Letoonia Golf Resort, meanwhile, brings a plethora of shows, discos, parties and daily activities to entertain its guests when they’re not golfing.
Belek’s Attractions and Activities Besides golf, one attraction visitors may want to check out are Belek Town Mosque, which visitors on TripAdvisor have called “exquisite” and “serene.” Located in the town centre, it’s the perfect place to stop into while checking out some of Belek’s shops and cafes. The mosque is also an excellent way to locate Belek’s Saturday bazaar, where visitors can shop for fresh produce, cheeses, honey and even accessories. If you see something you like, like a handbag, it doesn’t hurt to haggle and try to bring the price down.
After you’ve done some shopping, you may want to take your fresh fruit down and have a snack at Belek Beach Park. For those not staying at beachfront resorts, the public beach provides a way to swim and relax as the locals do. If you’re looking to take a deeper dive into the history of the region, the ruins at Aspendos provide a great option. Located just 20 minutes away from Belek by car, Aspendos is a quick trip for those staying within Belek. Turkey Travel Centre explains some of the histories behind the ruins: the city of Aspendos was a vibrant trade centre and dates back to 1000 B.C. Its amphitheatre, in particular, is “the most well preserved Roman Theater outside of Italy.” Walking around the ancient ruins can give you a feeling of travelling through time, as you imagine what life might have been like for those long-ago Anatolians. Aspendos has a 25 lira entrance fee and a nearby parking lot where you can leave your car for a fee. If wandering the site has left you hungry and tired, you can rest your legs and fill your stomach at Cafe Istanbul, rated as Belek’s number-one restaurant by TripAdvisor. Reviewers love the fillet steaks and the great atmosphere -- including karaoke nights during the holiday season, for daring diners.
Belek Accommodations: Resorts and Hotels Belek hotels tend to skew towards the expensive end of the spectrum, with many luxurious options like the aforementioned golf resorts -- Belek has dozens of five-star hotels. Some of these are all-inclusive, like TUI Magic Life Masmavi, or Voyage Belek Golf and Spa, for guests electing to remove some of the guesswork from their holiday. There are still a few options on the lower end of the price spectrum, though, like Ceres Hotel, that can host guests for under 500 lira.
