Cheltikov Hotel
Cheltikov Hotel was once the home of the Cheltikov Family who settled in Kars, due to their rich background they built themselves a mansion within the city. The build was eventually left to the Russian Government who used it as an opera house.
After the Russians left Kars and Turkey the mansion went on to become an infant’s school, followed by a military pharmacy warehouse, a new opera house, a maternity hospital and finally a doctor’s house. In 2011 the building was converted into an up-market hotel.
The building was built with a traditional Russian style from with ornate architecture, with the courtyard in the back taking a more simplistic plain whitewashed wall that would aid in keeping it cool in the hot summer months.
