Dalyan Koyu
Dalyan Koyu, Dalyan Bay is a popular swimming and diving area located close to Fethiye, a quirky port town and capital of the region. The bay boasts a stunning sandy beach that sunbathers will adore while the cool water is a clear azure blue and provides excellent visibility for snorkelling and diving. The bay is sheltered by a backdrop of lush hills which mean that the sea is usually calm and without undercurrent making it ideal for swimmers of all abilities. It is possible to visit Dalyan Koyu on a day trip from Fethiye, the bay can be reached by car but the best way to arrive is by boat, a daily cruise boat will anchor close to the shore so you can jump overboard and swim to the golden sand.
The dive site is located a little offshore, Dive Boats typically stop above the Dalyan reef for divers to descend with the aid of a safety rope. Below the water lies an impressive sea wall dotted with cracks and small caves, it is alive with sea life and thickly decorated with underwater plants and sponges. Dalyan bay is home to gropers, octopus, hermit crabs, moray eels and you may even spot stingrays hiding on the sandy seabed.
