Gevas

Historically this town has been home to the three cultures that are famous from coming from this part of Turkey, for a long time the region was home to the main town of the Armenian Kingdom. During the 14th and 15th century it became the centre of a small Kurdish population, it became part of the Ottoman Empire before World War I.

Today the town is much smaller with a large number of ruins to visit. Here there are the remains of a castle, and a monumental Tomb thought to be the daughter of the ruler. An old mosque can be seen here that has stood the test of time, only needing one restoration in the 1400s.
