Samanlik Bay
This picturesque bay is located just 3 kilometres from the centre of Fethiye, a busy port town and popular holiday destination. Samanlik bay boasts a pretty pebble beach and crystal clear waters, it's an ideal spot for swimming and snorkelling with gorgeous coral reefs and abundant sea life. Locals love this beach and at weekends it is often packed out with families making barbecues and enjoying the sun. The clean water are usually calm and the pine tree coated hills provide a serene backdrop to this charming bay. Basic facilities are also available at the beach.
Samanlik Bay is a common stopping point for Gulet and Blue Cruises which often anchor in the bay overnight. Samanlik is one of the many spots visited on the 12 Island Boat Cruise from Fethiye, the boats usually stop for about an hour for lunch and swimming.
If you have access to a car you can drive to Samanlik bay, follow the main seaside road south out of Fethiye town centre towards the Peninsula, you will pass the dockyard then turn right at a sign for Hillside Beach Club, continue on the winding road past Aksazlar Beach to Samanlik. Alternatively, you could take a minibus from the centre of Fethiye or rent a bike and cycle around the peninsular, the 10-kilometre round trip provides stunning views over the beautiful turquoise sea.
