ERZURUM - EASTERN TURKEY

Erzurum is a beautiful mountainous area with ruins from many different cultures. For those who enjoy architecture, the ruins here span different time and civilizations including the Seljuks, Saltuk, Mongol and Ottoman. The buildings that have survived the longest are the Mosques and Medreses - Teaching establishments.

The surrounding mountains in the area have become famous for their ski slopes. There are many different slopes from beginner to expert and many if the hotels owning their own lifts and slopes allowing for easy access.
