Today's tour will open your eyes to the amazing Hattusa, Yazilikaya and Alacahoyuk sites here in Turkey. You will be met either at your hotel or at the airport as pre-arranged, we will then travel to the first stop of the day.

Hattusa.
If you were travelling from the east to west across Turkey then almost in the absolute middle you find the ancient and mighty kingdom of Hattusa, which in the late bronze age between 3000 BC and 1200 BC was the capital of the Hittite Empire Today this is now near the current area of Bogazkale 2 and a half hours east of Ankara. The evidence of what was once o huge walled city is overwhelming and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1986.

Yazilikaya.
This impressive site is a natural open-air temple built from the rocks hidden in the high cliffs about 2 kilometres from the city itself. It consists of two open-air chambers which are covered with carved relief patterns and pictures of animals, gods and goddesses that have stayed surprisingly intact for over 5 thousand years. Cut into the walls with the primitive tools of the bronze age.

We will stop for lunch before visiting the:

Hattusa Museum.
Located in Bogazkale, this museum is full of both art and everyday objects. Opened in 1966 and fully renovated in 2011 all of the exhibits here were brought from the site of the Hittite Hattusa city excavations. There are well-written panels explaining in detail all displays.

Alacahoyuk.
A 30-minute drive will take us north to the site of Alacahoyuk, an important archaeological site where pre-Hittite era royal tombs dating back to 25000 BC are standing, all heavily carved. This town had an outer wall of defence with inner and outer gateways much like those of Hattusa. Many of the original finds were moved to the Anatolian Civilization Museum in Ankara. Excavations at this site are ongoing.

Alacahoyuk Museum.
Almost as if you have a portal to the past the museum of Alacahoyuk gives us that window and the chance to see incredible pieces with well-written detail the museum is a moderate size nevertheless the importance is significant, located centrally your journey to this amazing part of Turkey is made complete by coming to the museum.
