Araxa is a lesser-known ancient Lycian settlement near Oren in Seydikemer, around 40 km from Fethiye. Located in the upper Xanthos Valley, the ancient city was an important settlement within the Lycian region and is surrounded by the natural beauty of the valley and mountains.
Although only limited remains survive today, visitors can see traces of ancient walls, rock-cut tombs, Lycian sarcophagi and other archaeological remains. Its quiet setting and connection to the ancient Lycian landscape make Araxa an interesting stop for those exploring the historical side of the Fethiye region.
