Gemiler Island

Gemiler Island, also known as St Nicholas Island, lies just off the coast near Fethiye and Kayakoy. The island is home to the remains of several Byzantine churches, chapels, cisterns and other structures dating mainly from the 5th to 7th centuries.

The island's peaceful setting and archaeological remains make it a popular stop on Blue Cruise itineraries. Visitors can explore the ruins on foot and enjoy panoramic views over the surrounding coastline, while parts of the ancient settlement can also be seen beneath the clear waters around the island.
