Phaselis

Phaselis Ancient City is one of the most remarkable historical sites on the Antalya coast, set on a small peninsula surrounded by pine forests and the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean. Founded by Rhodian colonists in the 7th century BC, Phaselis became an important trading and harbour city thanks to its three natural ports.

Walking through the ancient city, visitors can follow the impressive main street connecting the harbour areas and discover the remains of the Roman theatre, agoras, baths, city walls, aqueducts and Hadrian's Gate. The combination of ancient ruins and the surrounding forest makes Phaselis particularly atmospheric, with many of the remains naturally shaded by pine trees.

Phaselis is also an excellent stop for a day by the sea. Its three historic harbour areas are now surrounded by beautiful swimming spots with clear, calm Mediterranean waters.
