Taksim

Taksim is one of Istanbul's most famous and vibrant districts, located in the heart of the city's European side. At the centre of the area is Taksim Square, a major meeting point surrounded by hotels, restaurants, cafes and shops, while nearby Istiklal Street stretches through the historic urban landscape towards Galata.

A walk along Istiklal Street offers a lively introduction to Istanbul, with historic buildings, churches, galleries, boutiques and traditional passages lining the pedestrian avenue. The iconic red Istanbul Nostalgic Tram also runs along the street, adding to its distinctive atmosphere.

From here, visitors can easily continue towards Galata Tower, Karakoy and the Bosphorus, while the surrounding streets offer plenty of opportunities to experience Istanbul's food, culture and everyday city life.
