Yedikule Fortress

Fortress of the Seven Towers

Our journey begins at the legendary Yedikule Fortress, one of the most impressive surviving sections of the ancient Walls of Constantinople.

Originally constructed during the Byzantine period and later expanded after the Ottoman conquest of Constantinople in 1453, this massive fortress once served as:

  • A defensive military stronghold
  • An imperial treasury
  • An armory
  • A political prison and infamous dungeon

Walking through its ancient towers and stone walls, you will discover stories of Byzantine emperors, Ottoman sultans, ambassadors, prisoners, and military history while enjoying panoramic views of the Marmara Sea and the old city walls.

Entrance fee to Yedikule Fortress is included in the tour.

Modern Istanbul & Galata Tower

After exploring the historical walls of Constantinople, we continue toward the vibrant heart of modern Istanbul: Beyoğlu and Galata.

This district reflects the cosmopolitan spirit of the late Ottoman Empire where Europeans, Levantines, Jews, Greeks, Armenians, and Turks lived together for centuries.

Our walking tour through Galata introduces you to:

  • Historical streets and passages
  • Art galleries and local boutiques
  • Modern cafés and cultural spots
  • Hidden churches and historical buildings
  • Local daily life away from the tourist crowds

Guests may optionally enter the tower for panoramic city views. (Museum entrance is not included.)
