Aphrodisias Day Tour
Description
Aphrodisias is an ancient city that was named after the Goddess Aphrodite. This ancient metropolis prominently worshipped her and was commonly known as the city of love for this. Prosperity enveloped the city, thanks to the creativity and excellent craftsmanship of those who utilised a large amount of good-quality marble nearby. Unfortunately, the city was abandoned after earthquakes in the 4th and 7th centuries that destroyed many of the buildings and added a new flood zone on one side.
Now the ruins show the history of the city, and the quality of its craftsmanship is still marveled at today. In the city are many landmarks of a bustling metropolis, its own Odeon (council chambers), stadium, and the temple to Aphrodite.

The city of Aphrodisias was once a prosperous metropolis that primarily worshipped the goddess Aphrodite. The city had many master craftsmen, and it had some of the most beautiful statues and decorations. Due to the quality of the work and a large amount of marble nearby, the temple to Aphrodite was once a breathtaking place of worship.
As the city prospered, it became a hub for business as well as the fine arts; this led the city to have some stunning buildings, including its own Odeon theatre (council chamber). Aphrodisias had one of the largest stadiums of the era, which held a variety of entertainments that would have been common for the population to wish to see during the time.
