Lunch on Board
After boarding the boat, you will enjoy a freshly prepared Turkish lunch while cruising through the historical waterways of Istanbul. The menu includes seasonal salads, traditional Turkish hors d'oeuvres, Chicken Shish Kebap, and rice. Drinks are excluded.
During the quieter low-season months, lunch service may take place while cruising through the calm waters of the Golden Horn, offering a peaceful and atmospheric start to the journey.
Golden Horn
Our cruise begins along the legendary Golden Horn, the natural harbor that played a vital role throughout the Byzantine, Roman, and Ottoman periods. For centuries, this sheltered waterway served as the heart of trade, naval activity, and daily life in Constantinople.
While cruising through the Golden Horn, you will enjoy panoramic views of Istanbul’s historical skyline and pass beneath two important bridges of the city:
- Unkapanı Bridge
- Galata Bridge, one of Istanbul’s most famous meeting points connecting the historical peninsula with the modern districts of the city.
The lively atmosphere of fishermen, ferries, mosques, and old neighborhoods perfectly reflects the spirit of Istanbul.
Dolmabahce Palace & The European Shoreline (From the Sea)
As we leave the Golden Horn and enter the Bosphorus, the scenery becomes even more impressive. One of the first magnificent landmarks you will admire is the elegant Dolmabahçe Palace, viewed directly from the sea.
Built during the 19th century, Dolmabahçe Palace became the final imperial residence of the Ottoman Sultans and reflects the empire’s fascination with European architecture and luxury. Nearby, the beautiful Dolmabahçe Mosque adds another elegant silhouette to the waterfront.
Continuing along the European shoreline, you will also see:
- The luxurious Four Seasons Bosphorus Hotel
- The magnificent Cıragan Palace, once an Ottoman imperial palace and today one of Istanbul’s most prestigious hotels.
Ortakoy Mosque (From the Sea)
One of the most iconic stops along the Bosphorus shoreline is the charming neighborhood of Ortaköy. Famous for its lively atmosphere, cafés, local art scene, and waterfront setting, Ortaköy is also home to one of Istanbul’s most photographed mosques.
The elegant Ortaköy Mosque, standing directly beside the Bosphorus beneath the bridge, creates one of the city’s most famous postcard views.
Bosphorus Bridge & Kucuksu Palace (From the Sea)
As the cruise continues northward, the boat passes beneath the first Bosphorus Bridge, symbolically connecting the continents of Europe and Asia.
Soon after, the graceful Küçüksu Palace appears on the Asian shoreline. This elegant Ottoman summer pavilion was used by the sultans as a royal retreat and remains one of the hidden architectural gems of the Bosphorus.
Rumeli Fortress & Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge (From the Sea)
Further along the Bosphorus, we approach the mighty Rumeli Fortress, built by Sultan Mehmed II — known as Mehmed the Conqueror — before the conquest of Constantinople in 1453.
Strategically constructed in an incredibly short period of time, this impressive fortress played a crucial role during one of the most important sieges in world history.
Nearby, you will also see the impressive Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, the second bridge connecting Europe and Asia across the Bosphorus.
Asian Shoreline & Beylerbeyi Palace (From the Sea)
During the return journey along the Asian side of Istanbul, you will enjoy panoramic views of the elegant waterfront mansions and historical residences lining the Bosphorus coast.
One of the highlights on this side is the magnificent Beylerbeyi Palace, another Ottoman summer residence beautifully located directly beside the sea beneath the Bosphorus Bridge.
Maiden’s Tower / Leander’s Tower (From the Sea)
One of the final highlights of the cruise is the legendary Maiden’s Tower, also known as Leander’s Tower.
Rising from a tiny islet between the European and Asian shores, this mysterious structure has inspired countless legends and romantic stories throughout history. Over the centuries, it has served as a lighthouse, customs station, defensive tower, and quarantine station — becoming one of Istanbul’s most beloved symbols.
This Bosphorus experience offers the perfect combination of history, culture, architecture, local atmosphere, and unforgettable scenery, making it one of the most relaxing and memorable ways to discover the beauty of Istanbul.
