After we pick up from your hotel in the Ephesus region including Selcuk, Kusadasi and Kusadasi port for cruise customers wanting to join a shore excursion, we will begin our fully guided Ephesus Exclusive tour.
As you arrive into Ephesus, you will witness the Magnesia Gate, a marvellous example of ancient architecture that once stood tall as an entrance to the city. We then begin our downhill walk with your private guide into the city's ruins.
The route will take you past the Odeon, the Celsus Library, the Temple of Hadrian, the Fountain of Trajan and the Great Theatre. The theatre, one of the city's best-preserved monuments, is still to this day used for the local spring festival. It once had a seating capacity of 24,000 people and is believed to be the site where St Paul preached to the Ephesians.
Afterwards, we pay a visit to the Terrace Houses in Ephesus. These are also known as the houses for the rich! There are six residential units on three terraces. The oldest of these dating back to 1C BC.
After our tour of the terrace houses, we will drive to the Virgin Mary House and then enjoy some delicious Turkish cuisine for lunch. The next stop is St. John Basilica and a visit to the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
The tour will finish after the Temple of Artemis and we will return you to your hotel or back to the port where your cruise ship is moored.
