Today you will explore the historical side of religion, you will be picked up at 09:00 am to depart for Sanliurfa.
Your first stop will be the ancient site of Gobekli Tepe. This archaeological destination dates back to the 10th-8th millennium, here there have been two distinct layers of history found. The first layer is from the early Pre-Pottery Neolithic, here is one of the oldest know megaliths with huge T-shaped stone pillars, more than 200 of these pillars have been found in 20 circles. The second layer belongs to a later Pre-Pottery Neolithic period. These structures purpose remains a mystery to this day.
Sanliurfa is your next destination. This ancient city is said to be where Abraham the patriarch grew up and struggled against King Nimrud. The pond in this towns palace was where the story of Abraham was thrown into the first for the flames to turn to water and the burning logs became fish, today the pond is famous for its high amount of fish and crystal-clear waters.
