This wonderful 14-day biblical tour takes you across Turkey visiting many important sites of the early Christian church whilst showing you the beauty of this expansive land starting in Istanbul we go on a journey that takes us to some of the very places that a few of the disciples walked and ministered, places that were instrumental in the early foundations of the Christian church. Here The past holds hands with what happened so long ago, we hope it always holds tight so that we can continue to understand and learn.

On the first day, we will meet in Istanbul before flying to the first of our destinations, Cappadocia where you will be able to settle into your accommodation and rest ready for the next day's adventures.
The beauty of this landscape that you find yourself in will astound you, there is nowhere else on earth quite like it, this strange lunar landscape has been carved by the winds of a million years and in every direction, there is another breathtaking view. Cappadocia's is in Kayseri the Old Testament region of Caesarea, today you will visit the Fairy Chimney rock formations then onto Goreme's open-air Museum, before heading to Avanos. Set on the banks of the red river Avanos is famed for its ancient earthenware pottery that is still produced today. After leaving Avanos we will go to the settlement of Uchisar with its panoramic views over the whole valley due to the fact that it is the highest point of Cappadocia.

OPTIONAL TOUR: TURKISH NIGHT SHOW & DINNER.
Tonight's entertainment is organized so that you have the chance to experience Turkish Culture and Traditions and also enjoy a great show. You will be picked up from your hotel in the evening and taken to a cave restaurant in the heart of Cappadocia, for a night you will always remember. This is an optional tour and will cost extra as it is not part of your prepaid tour.
- Early Morning -
OPTIONAL TOUR: CAPPADOCIA HOT AIR BALLOON FLIGHT
If you choose to wake up in the early hours of the morning to take advantage of a Hot Air Balloon flight, this experience can be added to the tour. This activity is famous in Cappadocia and is the perfect way to start the day by seeing Cappadocia from high in the sky. This tour will cost extra.
Todays will find us in the Ihlara Valley, This whole valley has a very special place in the heart of Christianity as this is where over 3500 churches were carved out of the rocks by early Christians.
Escaping from persecuting Arabs tens of thousands of Christians flee to the safety of the Valley where the land gave them refuge, hidden underground, more than 20 elaborate cities with sleeping quarters, kitchens, rooms of worship, storerooms, stables and even a place for the dead to rest till they could be buried were formed and carved here, it is an amazing place and an incredible testament to faith.
In the evening we will travel on to accommodation in Adana.
This morning we will travel south to the 3rd largest city of the roman empire the ancient site of Antioch which is now modern-day Antakya in Turkey. Here Saint Peter, Paul, Timothy and Barnabus all preached and it was in Antioch that the followers of Jesus were first given the name Christians.
Today we will visit the cave where early Christians including Saint Peter met in secret for mass and also the church of st peter, iron gates to the south where little has changed through the centuries were part of the original entrance to Antioch and it is amazing to walk along the same route as the disciples of the new testament.
There are remains that were once the ancient seaport of Seleucia where in Acts 13:4 tells us that Saint Paul first Departed. You will also see the mighty Titus Tunnel carved through the mountains at the orders of the Emporer Titus And Vespasian.
Your overnight accommodation will be in Antioch
This mornings journey will take us to Tarsus the ancient city of biblical times here we can see clear evidence of the lives of this ancient land we will visit the well of Saint Paul and the Gate of Cleopatra well preserved and atmospheric. Then on to Iconium Modern-day Konya and home to the Mystical Sufis. It was here during the first ministry of Paul that he gave the early believers the strength to continue in their faith.
We will stay overnight in Konya.
On the road that connects the great city of Ephesus in the west to Babylon in the east, northwest of Konya we enter Antioch of Pisidia now called Yalvac, it was here that during Pauls first mission nearly the whole city came out to hear him speak, we will visit the Temple and ancient church of Augustus also near the Village of Honaz we will visit the Colossae an unexcavated site that paul mentioned in a letter written whilst he was imprisoned.
After this day tour, we will travel overnight by tour bus to the city of Hierapolis and Pamukkale
When you first experience the white mountainside of Pamukkale with its horizontal pools of pure dazzling white it is like stepping onto another planet Pamukkale has had calcified water trickling down her face for the last 14000 years. She is mighty and beautiful and above her, on the slopes of the mountain we find the incredible ancient city of Hierapolis mentioned in Colossians 4:12-13 that the churches of Laodicea, Hierapolis and Colossae once thrived under the ministry of Epaphras, under constant excavation you will see the abundant ruins of the Temple of Apollo, The Great Theatre, and the entrance to hell at least so-called by the pagan cults the plutonium. We will then carry on to the church at Laodicea of which Jesus spoke ‘’Behold I stand at the door and knock’’ Revelation 3:20-21
In the evening after the tour, we will travel on to the hotel in Kusadasi.
Today you will stand amongst the great stones of Ephesus a city that is so well preserved it is easy to be transported back in time. The city was mentioned several times especially in The New Testament Acts 18 through 19, we know that paul ministered here on at least 3 separate occasions and it here that mary lived after John brought her to the hillside overlooking the city. Ephesus boasts the great library of Celsus And the great amphitheatre that seated 250,000 people, many of the streets and shopfronts the latrines and market place are still intact here you will find the remains of the temple of Diana and the Basilica of Saint John.
After leaving Ephesus we will head straight to Miletos in modern-day Aydin home to the ancient philosopher Thales 640-546 BC. It was here mentioned in Acts 20:15-38 that the Ephesian elders were called and Saint Paul preached a powerful sermon.
3 of the seven churches of revelation mentioned in the gospels are to be found at the sites you will visit today Sardis was the capital of the Lydian Kingdom where coins were first minted it was here that Jesus wrote of the wealth of this city by saying ‘I know thy works, and thou hast a name, that thou livest, and art dead’. Smyrna jostled with both Ephesus and Pergamum to be the first city of Asia later suffering and persecuted for not worshipping the Roman Emporer and Philadelphia mentioned in Revelations 3: 12 here you will visit what is left of the remains of the Byzantine Basilica and parts of what is left of the city wall.
Your overnight accommodation will be in Izmir.
Once a rich and powerful city and described in the bible as where Satans seat is Pergamum is rich in incredible excavations many of which can now be found in the British Museum, whilst here we will visit the famous Asclepion which is one of the antiquities medical centres, and visit the Red Basilica converted from paganism to a Christian church. Thyatira again one of the seven churches of the book of revelation, this was a huge trade and commercial centre.
It is in Ayvalik where we will stay overnight
Travelling north from Ayvalik we come to Assos again mentioned in the ministries of paul it is here overlooking the sea that the mighty columns of the city still stand and look out across the water, then on to the ancient Greek city of Alexandria Troas today in the region of Troy in northwestern Turkey The city was founded in 310BC, like many of the ancient historical cities, Troas was situated on the silk road. It was in the city of Troas that in Acts we read Saint Paul received the call to Macedonia and it is indicated in Acts 16: 6 – 12 that Luke met him here and they travelled and taught together and that after the Macedonia call they returned here to Troas.
Overnight Canakkale
Simply beautiful, the lake is 32 kilometres long and 10 kilometres wide and approximately 80 metres deep and the remains of the palace of Constantine can be clearly seen even though they are now below the surface of the lake, the town of Iznik (ancient name Nicea) lies on its eastern shores.
Our Tour will take us to the site of the Castle of Iznik this beautiful ancient building dates back to 258 BC, we will also visit the Hagia Sophia church it was here in 787 AD the Seven Church Council assembled. This church was built in the middle of the 6th Century during the Byzantine era.
After the morning tour in Iznik Nicea will travel on to one of the greatest cities on earth, Istanbul.
The spice bazaar built over 350 years ago is where we will stop for lunch before our Bosphorous cruise from the waters edge you will see many of the most important and iconic places that line the shore all of which make up a part of the rich tapestry of biblical Turkey
Tonight you will sleep in the only city that has its feet in two different continents, Istanbul
Today's tour will be a full assault on your senses an amazing city with so much to offer you will see the Hippodrome which was the central meeting place of civil life from political life to Gladiator chariot racing this open space was used daily by the people in the time of Constantinople, now the square is peaceful and in its centre is an inscribed and decorated obelisk that has stood since the fourth century.
The Topkapi Palace, home of the Ottoman Sultans is a must-see for all who come to the city and here in the outer courtyard of the palace, we find the Church of Saint Irene, the first church built here and the meeting place of the Council of the Seven Churches in 381.
The Blue Mosque built to show the strength of Sultan Ahmed I between 1609 1616 is our next stop just opposite, The Hagia Sophia, which was rebuilt, by the Emporer Justinian in 537 AD after a huge fire, it subsequently took over as the city's primary Cathedral from the church of St Irene and it was here in 553 AD that the Council of the Seven Churches met. We will then visit the Grand Bazaar, truly a place of wonder, the oldest continuous working market place in the world, construction started in the winter of 1455 it took 6 years to build and with its 61 covered streets and over 4000 shops selling everything you can imagine, there is something for all.

-Blue Mosque Entrance is limited on Fridays due to prayers, therefore we are unable to enter on Fridays.
This is the very last part of your tour with us and after breakfast, we will provide a private transfer to the airport, we hope that this Biblical Tour of Turkey has shown you some of the paths where the disciples trod, and many places of great importance throughout Christianity.
