SPICE MARKET: The Egyptian Bazaar was initially known as the "New Bazaar" and "Valide Bazaar" in the 17th century. However, it gained popularity in the mid-18th century as the "Egyptian Bazaar" because most of the spices and goods sold there came from Egypt. The name "Egyptian Bazaar" is more commonly used and can be found in travel books written by foreign travelers who visited the bazaar. In Constantinople by Edmondo de Amicis, dated 1874, the Egyptian Bazaar is described as a place where all the goods from India, Syria, Egypt, and Arabia are deposited. These goods are later converted into essences, pastilles, powders, and ointments used to color little hands and faces, perfume apartments and baths, and breaths and beards. They also reinvigorate worn-out pashas, dull the senses of unhappy married people, stupefy smokers, and spread dreams, oblivion, and insensibility throughout the vast city. After spending a short time in this bazaar, one's head begins to feel dull and heavy, and it's best to leave as soon as possible. However, the effect of the hot, close atmosphere and the penetrating odors lingers on one's clothing. It remains in memory as one of the most vivid and characteristic impressions of the East.

RUSTEM PASHA MOSQUE: The Rustem Pasha Mosque, located in Istanbul, Turkey, is an ancient mosque built by the Ottoman imperial architect Mimar Sinan. This mosque was constructed for the Grand Vizier Rustem Pasha, the son-in-law and minister of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent. The mosque is well-known for its beautiful tilework, which adorns the interior and exterior walls with floral and geometric patterns. The tiles are made of İznik pottery, a ceramic art that flourished in the 16th century.

BETA HAN (TURKISH COFFEE TASTING): The Han (Inn), known by different names in various historical documents, is called the Hassırdjılar Han in the Goad map and Tahmis Han in other sources. This Han has a unique story and holds significant value in Turkish history. Over the years, it has been called Emin Han, Tahmis Han, Hasırcılar Han, and Yeni Han. Despite suffering damage over time, the Han has reopened its doors as "Beta Yeni Han" after a renovation that has stayed true to its essence and spirit, carried out by Beta Gıda. Today, this magnificent Ottoman-era structure presents the architectural and visual elegance of Istanbul Eminönü to the world, thanks to the perfect renovation that blends modern dynamism with historical heritage.

MİHRİMAH SULTAN MOSQUE: The Mihrimah Sultan Mosque, also known as Iskele Mosque, Jetty Mosque, Üsküdar Quay Mosque, is a famous Ottoman Mosque located in the historical center of Üsküdar municipality in Istanbul, Turkey. It is named after Mihrimah Sultan, the daughter of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent and wife of Grand Vizier Rüstem Pasha. This mosque is one of the two magnificent mosques she built. It was constructed between 1546 and 1548 under the supervision of the renowned architect Mimar Sinan. The mosque is on a raised platform with a spacious, high-vaulted basement, slender minarets, a single-domed Baldacchino, three semi-domes, and a double entrance. The mosque's architectural design reflects the hallmark of Sinan's mature style. The mosque's nickname comes from its location next to the ferry landing. The name "Mihr-î-Mah" means "Sun and Moon.”

EBRU ART EXPERIENCE: Join a small-group workshop in Istanbul and learn about the UNESCO-listed art form of 'Ebru,' also known as Turkish paper marbling. During this two-hour workshop, you will discover unique techniques dating back to Seljuk and Ottoman times. A local artist will demonstrate how color pigments, oily water, and paper can be transformed into mesmerizing artwork. With a maximum of eight participants, you can receive one-on-one tuition and practice your newly acquired skills.

FLIGHT TO CAPPADOCIA / CAPPADOCIA TOUR #1

Today, an early start is scheduled with a pick-up at 5:00 AM from the reception of your hotel for the transfer to the airport, from which you will have the option to fly into either Kayseri or Nevsehir. Upon arrival at the airport, you will be greeted by the pre-arranged transfer service that will take you to commence your tour in Cappadocia. The day’s itinerary begins with a visit to Devrent Valley, often referred to as 'Imagination Valley.' While this valley lacks the cave churches, Byzantine frescoes, and Roman citadel ruins characteristic of the broader Cappadocia region, it compensates with its unique and extraordinary landscape, featuring formations that resemble various animals, inviting you to let your imagination flourish in identifying them, sure to evoke laughter and wonder.

Our subsequent destination will be Pasabag, commonly known as Monk’s Valley, where you will view the intriguing mushroom-shaped fairy chimneys, formations created by the harder rock material deposited above them. The valley is aptly named due to the ascetic monks who settled here as early as the 5th century, adopting hermit lifestyles. This form of living, termed ‘stylite’ from the Greek word ‘stylos’ meaning pillar, involved Christian monks constructing dwellings within these pillars, where they lived, fasted, and prayed.

After exploring Pasabag, we shall proceed to the town of Avanos, which is situated along the banks of the Kizilirmak, translated to ‘The Red River.’ We will begin with a visit to the old village of Avanos, which meanders up the hills away from the town, presenting a picturesque maze of old stone houses—some restored and others repurposed. In several abandoned houses, one can still observe features of traditional Ottoman architecture along with ancient decorations, motifs, and murals. You will also have the opportunity to participate in a hands-on pottery workshop. A lunch break, which is included, will follow for a chance to replenish your energy.

Following lunch, we will visit the Goreme Open Air Museum, noted for its remarkable rock formations and fascinating rock-cut churches, where you will enjoy the depth of the Goreme experience. Our final stop for the day will be Uchisar, a village situated on a steep rock formation, providing some of the most dramatic panoramas of the breathtaking Cappadocia, a place where you will certainly wish to linger. Take a leisurely stroll through the town as it offers a pleasant environment to observe the harmonious coexistence of nature and humanity. Throughout today’s tour, there will be one hour allocated for you to relax, enjoy some cold refreshments, and immerse yourself in the stunning panoramic views surrounding you. The tour will conclude around 5:00 PM, after which we will transfer you back to your hotel for the evening.* REMEMBER TO BRING ALL YOUR BELONGINGS / LUGGAGE

05
CAPPADOCIA TOUR #2

Today’s journey will commence with a departure from your hotel at 09:30 AM, proceeding to explore the captivating landscapes of Red Valley and Rose Valley. Red Valley is renowned as one of the most stunning areas for hiking in Cappadocia. The two valleys are adjacent and allow for a seamless exploration. Upon arrival in Rose Valley, one must not overlook the Hacli Church and the Ayvali Church, both of which feature remarkable interior decorations. Subsequently, we will visit the historical Christian Village of Cavusin, followed by a tour of Pigeon Valley. The pathway through Pigeon Valley offers breathtaking vistas of the natural cliffs and human-carved caves, including several tunnels excavated from the rock formations. Finally, we shall visit Kaymakli Underground City and Ortahisar Castle. The Kaymakli or Ozkonak underground city, with its intriguing levels dating from the 6th to 9th centuries, includes five areas accessible to the public. The tunnels, cellars, storerooms, and stables carved from soft volcanic rock are truly astonishing. Ortahisar Castle, situated 86 meters high, represents the most prominent structure of Nevsehir, dating back to the Hittite period. During the day, you will have a one-hour break, during which you may wish to enjoy refreshments and take time to relax. Our adventure through Cappadocia will conclude around 5:00 PM, after which you will be transferred back to your hotel to enjoy the remainder of your evening.

OPTIONAL TOUR: Hot Air Balloon Ride - Availability for last-minute bookings may be limited. The no-show release date is established as three days prior.

HIERAPOLIS / PAMUKKALE TOUR

After breakfast, you will depart early for Pamukkale, which takes approximately three hours. Upon arrival, you'll explore Hierapolis, including the Necropolis—one of Anatolia's largest ancient cemeteries housing 1,200 graves—as well as the Roman Bath, Domitian Gate, Main Street, and Byzantine Gate. Next, you'll stroll to the natural warm water terraces created by the flow of calcium-rich warm water. A dip in the effervescent waters of the Sacred Pool should be a highlight of your travel plans. Besides being naturally radioactive, the water is rich in calcium bicarbonate, calcium sulfate, magnesium, and carbon dioxide. After swimming, simply dry off and allow the minerals to work their magic. We will then continue on to Kusadasi for an overnight stay.

08
EPHESUS AND VIRGIN MARY TOUR

You are cordially invited to embark on an exploration of the magnificent ancient city of Ephesus. Our team will collect you from your accommodation in Kusadasi at 09:15 AM, followed by a brief journey to Ephesus (you have the option of joining a group tour or selecting a private tour). We will commence our journey by visiting the House of the Virgin Mary, located atop Bulbul Mountain. This historic site was discovered in the 19th century. Catherina Emmerich (1775-1824), a German nun who was unable to visit Ephesus, provided a detailed description of the house and its surroundings, as revealed in her visions. It is widely believed that St. John brought Mary, the mother of Jesus, to Ephesus sometime between AD 37 and 48, where she is thought to have spent her final years. Following our visit to the House of the Virgin Mary, we will proceed to the Ancient City of Ephesus, renowned for its remarkable archaeological significance. You will have the opportunity to observe the Odeon, the Fountain of Trajan, the Baths of Scholastika, the Temple of Hadrian, the Grand Theater, and the impressive Library of Ephesus. This library, adorned with majestic columns and statues, remains in excellent condition. Standing in its midst or strolling along the main thoroughfare of Ephesus offers a feeling of stepping back in time among the Romans, with visually stunning sights all around. Additionally, within Ephesus lies the Grand Theater, where St. Paul is believed to have preached. This theater is considered the largest outdoor theatre of the ancient world, with a capacity of 25,000 seats. The final and arguably the most significant site in Selcuk is the great Temple of Artemis (Diana), recognized as one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The Ephesus Artemis was a goddess of fertility, often depicted draped with eggs or multiple breasts as symbols of fertility. Our tour will conclude after a visit to the Mosque of Isa Bey, constructed in the 19th century and also utilized as a caravanserai; it is an architectural marvel that you should not miss. During today's excursion, you will be provided with a one-hour break to rest. Should you wish, refreshments will be available from the on-site cafeteria (your breakfast and lunch will be included). We anticipate returning you to the hotel around 5:00 PM for your overnight stay in Kusadasi.
